The new Sainsbury's on Birch Avenue is very welcome + popular. However with the school next door and busy park across the road the additional traffic poses increased risk. Some of the cars (not many but its on the increase) are speeding, so how about a zebra crossing or pelican?

The future of a popular summer festival hangs in the balance as organisers wait to find out if it will be able to continue.
The Penwortham Gala held in Hurst Grange Park, Penwortham, every June, has expanded over the last 30 years to become one of the summer's biggest family attractions but a change in the law has left its future in limbo.
Parks now need to be granted a permanent licence to hold live events and objections from members of the public must be considered.
