Poker at Rileys Preston

Rileys have two formats

£10 + £1 freezeout
£8 + £2 freezeout (King of Clubs)

At the the Preston Rileys the King of Clubs runs on Thursdays and Saturdays and the £10 freezeout runs on Fridays. They all start at 8PM

I tried to go to all nights, but when I went on a Thursday I was the only one ther and it was cancelled. Fridays and Saturdays however are very busy and you have to get there early to get a seat. There is a maximum of 25 players. You can ring during the day to book a seat but if you are not there to claim it by 7.45, they start knocking pre bookers of the list in favour of those who are there waving their cash.

I would reconmend if you are just turning up to get there by 7.30.

You will also have to join the rileys club. This is £5 for the year and you can use your membership to play poker or snooker at preston or any other rileys around the country.

Rileys do not put on any sadwiches, but you can order bar snacks from the menu.

All in all I like the professional way that the poker is run a rileys. Chris who looks after the poker, gets a lot of abuse, but he does do a good job of ensuring the rules are enforced.

See you on Fridays

9 Aug 08 £10 Freezeout

Went to Rilyes last night for the Friday Night £10 Freeze out. It was a fantastic night and very busy. I pre booked at 11.30am, when I got there, I found that i was still 16th on the list, all 25 places were booked and there were 9 on the waiting list. They had to put another table on for an extra sit and go.

Although I only got to about 11th place it was a great night. A friend, Gaz that I took with me came in 3rd place, to take home £40. It is normally £50, but 4 people had been battling it out for so long it only seemed fair that a £10 was taken from 1,2,3 to make a £30 fourth place.
